Appreciate that it probably isn't expected to work until the fixes to the engine are in, but thought it would be worth having an issue to track anyway.

@ohm isn’t going to be very happy
Apparently there are issues with SSH and… running an external monitor as well!

I think people who think there’s going to be no problems at all switching processor architecture are a bit naive.
I haven’t looked into the problems at hand, but hopefully it’s all in software and will probably be fixed within the next couple of weeks/months.

Seems to be quite deep routed, this in particular is worrying:
On modern versions of macOS, you simply can’t power on your computer, launch a text editor or eBook reader, and write or read, without a log of your activity being transmitted and stored.
This means that Apple knows when you’re at home. When you’re at work. What apps you open there, and how often. They know when you open Premiere over at a friend’s house on their Wi-Fi, and they know when you open Tor Browser in a hotel on a trip to another city.
Well, it’s not just Apple. This informat…
I really hope they get their act together, bugs I can live with, but spying on us and not allowing us to disable things like this is not on…

Cheers Ohm, I posted the link to the full update in a dedicated thread too: Safely open apps on your Mac - a statement from Apple .
Also posted some notes of what I think of Big Sur so far here - if you haven’t upgraded your MBP… you’re in for a treat when your M1 arrives! Big Sur is a nice upgrade!
