I’d guess it’s probably to do with:
A) They (/their buddies) make shed loads of money through existing fuel
B) The impact it would have on the world - imagine a world with free energy
I have very little respect for most people in power. They are just interested in lining their pockets (or those of their ‘pals’) and don’t really give a damn about creating a better world
