It’s been “the next 20 years” for at least 50 years now… 
The problem is super hard, there are almost no nations that actually fund long-term science so IMO that puts it well beyond at least a century from now…
On the other hand, climate change is already visible and maybe people will panic and start doubling down on science more. Here’s to hoping. Although I don’t count of people being rational by default.
