It’s always interesting when I see articles like this explaining their process for hiring and each time I come away none the wiser because all of these opinions are subjective to the person spouting them.
It’s very sad when personal opinions and biases, which are shaped by our background, become the basis for life-altering decisions on the applicant’s side.
Again the author did NOT mention that this is the only way for hiring, he was just expressing his opinion but goddamn, given how many software engineers there are today, when applying for any job and prepping for an interview I always ask myself: what biases and personal opinions, am I going to face today?
