I had no idea Go was 12 years old! I thought it was much younger than that
What kinds of applications is Go best to use?
Well, I’d say it depends. I’ve used Go at work for micro-services. But you can write Docker with it too.
Or use Buffalo to make web applications.
But by experience, it really shines in micro-services and CLI tools.

In my opinion, Go can be used as a C replacement in domains where you don’t need the ultimate speed and where you can afford a garbage collected language. Go is also really good for server side code.
