Anecdotally, I noticed a similar patter - a short nap or a shower can help when you are stuck with a problem. I suspect a short walk will have similar effects.
And yes, get enough sleep, your brain needs it!

I heard from elsewhere that it is the same case. The brain is memorizing the skills or things we learnt during the day when we are sleeping.
