I agree with his feeling, I would have used a different language though . It is disrespectful to send someone LLM generated messages. At least have the decency to write your own message (I see no problem if you use an LLM to correct grammar or typos, as long as it does not “enhance” your message with extra text).
I think more and more people are beginning to feel like Rob. When people created, or supported works of an open-source nature they did so with our understanding of what open source was at the time.
Pretty much nobody would willingly contribute to the creation of something that could, very potentially, replace them - and not just in the work place, but in life itself. In other words, contribute to something which could spell the end of human-kind:

Even if on one level people like Rob are relatively protected, people he knows may well not be, so I can completely understand his viewpoint and those that share it from so many different levels, whether it’s the impact on them, people they care about, the planet, society, or humanity…
