I do hope that with these negative experiences in the world as relates to work(and not just tech) that we’ll see the rise of a new breed of companies where employees are seen as value makers and not just mere spreadsheet rows and values.
In the past if you were laid off, you could still find another job easily.
But now if you do not find a job right away, you will feel the pressure because you have got expenses but no income, the technology keeps advancing and the requirements for landing the next job keep increasing.
Yes, things are definitely harder. But we can’t quit.
