Except reading power levels involves taking a little bit of that power while also adding in some variances in it that didn’t originally exist, it’s a tradeoff. That’s why getting those little readers that you plug into a slot and then plug a cable in to it are so nice, you only have that cost when you need it. Plus cables wear out much faster so having one on a cable sounds annoying, lol.
