I’ve been intrigued to learn Japanese for quite some time now…

To inject a bit of scepticism…

The reasoning seems to be: people lost brain connections as they age. More connections - younger looking brain.

But it might be the case that multilinguals have more connections because that’s what multilingualism require (I.e. the only way to become multilingual is to gain those extra connections) And that’s just that, and younger looking brain might not have any other benefits.
