Just upgraded to macOS Monterey (12.1) and finding ‘live text’ quite annoying! If anyone else wants to turn it off here’s how:
System Prefs > Language & Region > Live Text

Is it safe to upgrade to macOS Monterey now? Heard that it bricked some Macs.

It was bugging me - especially when there is text in a logo that you have to click often 
I’ve not heard of those reports and I think most people here said they were running it fine… hope it stays that way
