Google’s algorithm had lots of legends. Obviously it should be clear to everyone interested as otherwise it has too big potential for tons of unfair practices, censorship and even potential illegal activities, but as long as it’s controlled there was always a chance to guess what’s promoted and what’s not. If they even try to replace it with literally something (it does not be AI) which even they don’t have a full control of then searching and verifying information would be even bigger nightmare than in past. :fire:

In past because of suggestion a solution that one person had in 1st result somebody else had on nth page of results. Google’s practices combined with AI possibilities and all of recent ideologies in mainstream medias would only cause lots of problems. In theory in worst case it would be easier to create fake news. :-1:

But since it become obvious that recently they are using AI in their search engine then it could be a hint for decreased quality of AI’s used for research information. If they use Google’s search engine then now instead of looking for highly ranked sites it would search based on other AI’s suggestions, so if AI we don’t have control of would match based on content without any context or source rank then we would end up in true hell. Now people in Berlin scared about new wars and searching about them would could get easier fake news about war coming to Berlin in next days. Do I really need to explain what could be the consequences of such attempts? It would be perfect thing for intelligence agencies and politics. As always the group who loses the most are normal people … :disappointed:
