Landing a job as a CS grad is still possible with the right approach

I read this article and was pretty disappointed by the fancy title while the author offers the same old advice of network, projects and upskilling.
He provides no solution or advice on what can be done to fix the entry level pipeline and the disclaimer somewhere at the beginning mentions a coding bootcamp that he started.
If you are out there job hunting, know that you are on your own. There’s no magic miracle available for use.

CS curriculum should be changed/updated.

Sadly, I don’t think that would do anything about the job market. CS and it’s curriculum doesn’t operate in a vacuum…
I think that’s an important distinction. A lot of people point to AI as the main reason new graduates are struggling, but the hiring process itself has changed dramatically. Between ghost job postings, higher expectations for junior candidates, and companies being more cautious about hiring, it’s not surprising that getting a first role feels much harder than it did a few years ago. The demand for good engineers hasn’t disappeared it just seems much harder to get your foot in the door.
