Crystal: New sponsoring tiers

A new Crystal blog post/announcement has been posted!

We made several changes to the sponsor packages offered on the OpenCollective sponsoring page.

The sponsoring tiers and their perks hadn’t been updated in a while and we felt it was time to freshen up. Particularly, we want to offer more differentiated opportunities for expressing thanks to our sponsors.

The general structure of tiers hasn’t changed. It’s a bit more refined now with clearer naming. We consider three groups of sponsorship levels with different target audiences:

how is Crystal nowadays? I remember a few years ago there was a lot of buzz about it, but then I haven’t heard much lately

Weren’t SoundCloud using it - are they still using it?

I’ve made some research, but couldn’t find anything about it, so I guess they don’t use it =x

Humm, interesting, but I guess it was just some experiment. I had a look on their techblog and see no mentions of crystal All posts | SoundCloud Backstage Blog

And in this post from 2 years ago Learning Scala at SoundCloud | SoundCloud Backstage Blog the author mentions that most of their microservices are written in Scala. That’s interesting too because I thought people were avoiding Scala after all the breaking changes from 2 to 3.
