AI video just took a startling leap in realism. Are we doomed?

Google’s Veo 3 delivers AI videos of realistic people with sound and music. We put it to the test.

Can Veo 3 already create full movies just by giving it scripts or prompting it? But I think in a few more years, I am afraid that we won’t be able to tell if something uploaded on YouTube was just AI generated.

It’s truly impressive to witness the evolution of Veo3.
This week, I came across a video created by a small town to promote its June festival.
The video was about 1 minute long, had around six AI characters, music and other elements, it was entirely created using Veo3. According to the author, he spent around $55.
If he were to hire a team with real actors, camera operators and so on it would cost significantly more and take much longer

here’s the video

Darn, that is impressive.

$55!? That’s insane!!

Just saw this, and I think I’d watch it too!

Edit: I thought it was Veo3, but I don’t think it is now watching it again…

Thanks for sharing. I really wish they will make an awesome Street Fighter movie soon.

I honestly can’t tell if some of these videos are real or AI-generated!

Exactly, just think about Hollywood with all those multi-million-dollar productions and thousands of actors and crew members. They could be replaced by an AI for a fraction of the cost.

Those books adaptations that take years to produce, could be created in a couple of days…

Sure, someone can say “but Veo can’t produce full-length movies or maintain consistency yet..”
But think about it, five years ago we barely had anything like this. AI is evolving super fast.
