Yeah, making compilers fast isn’t ‘too’ hard, it’s just hard when you use a framework like LLVM that’s designed to be extensible and extremely optimizing, not fast, lol.
OCaml still has one of the fastest optimizing compilers I’ve ever seen, and as stated ‘optimizing’, it makes really good code.
