I’m a bit late to the party but I did enjoy watching the video and hearing Sandy and David’s thoughts on “Self Selection”.
I have a few questions so buckle up
- So from the video and the book, it seems self-selection is biased towards teams and by extension large companies with many people. Have you applied this process to smaller companies with no teams and/or fewer people and what was the result?
- Have you heard cases where self-selection has imploded? For example people choose teams but they are a wrong fit or they hate the task, what then happens?
- How do you handle the “untouchables” or the “unwanted” members or better still, what if you want a team and the team doesn’t want you or is full, what then??
- Non-related question: self-selection in this context is amazing, I wonder, have you considered writing a related book on self-selection for the individual in the context of the job search or just general career planning?
