- Realize that writers think and learn as they write. So don’t worry about making a paragraph “perfect” (because perfect writing is not a thing).
- Starting with brief notes can help many of us. However, I suggest avoiding outlines, because outlines shortcut that writing and thinking activity.
- Consider cyclint, not editing. Cycling is about clarifying ideas, not words.
- Wait to edit until you’ve written everything you want to say in this piece. Then, and only then, edit.
