I am seriously pondering buying a maxed out M1 MacBook Air – 512GB SSD with 16GB RAM and 8 GPU cores – and hold on to it until it falls apart. 
It adds up to about 1900 EUR. I’ll very likely buy it though, it’s a solid investment that will pay many times over.
