Anthrophic should start phasing out older versions of the models once theres a new release. While having the older one seems to provide some illusion of choice, its unnecessary mental chore to figure out which version has best token/performance ratio, cost saving etc and what not, especially when each of those versions can be thought to have multiple varieties due to thinking mode and stuff.
Moreover theres no tangible way to verify and be sure that anthropic doesn’t slightly tune one of the versions so that value/performance ratio is totally messed up from the premade assumption.
