Rewriting code from scratch, especially legacy ones, is hard. A lot of domain and technical knowledge might be implicit in the codebase, and might be missed during rewrite.

There are always so much pains to overcome =/
There are rules that no one remembers the reason
There are people who can’t accept the changes
There are things that doesn’t work on the new environment
There’s always someone with an incredible idea that’s not necessary and doesn’t add anything haha
not to mention integration between the old and the new one, the data migration …
